Dan Ricciardo is opening up his diary for some red hot insights

Missing your Dan Ricciardo and F1 fix for 2020? Never fear, Dan’s Diary is here to entertain, inform and delight.

For obvious reasons, the 2020 Formula 1 season has been paused meaning many of our favourite drivers, including Australia’s own Daniel Ricciardo have a little more time on their hands. Away from singing and driving tractors, Dan has turned his hand to writing and sharing a diary about his inner thoughts on racing, life outside of F1 and on his other passions like music.

The first of Dan’s Diary entries is on his five most underrated opponents.

“Who are the most underrated guys I’ve shared an F1 grid with? Hmm… Opinions are like …well, isolation stories at the moment; everyone’s got them. So here, in no particular order, are five guys I’ve raced in F1 who I feel were better from my perspective on the inside than the outside world gives them credit for.”

It is a really refreshing take to hear from a current driver about their competition and how they see them. Usually it is just the commentators and spectators who will create their own lists and ideas of who is the best from an outsiders view only. Also, juicy goss and hot takes are always better from the source.

Making Dan’s list include Marcus Ericsson, Jules Bianchi, Tonio Liuzzi, Roberto Merhi and Jenson Button. Honourable mentions went to Robert Kubica and Paul Di Resta.

You can read Dan’s full diary entry below:

Dan finishes his diary entry with “So, my list of the five most overrated drivers, I hear you ask? Don’t worry, I’ve got one, but I’ll keep that one in my own head until I’m done racing…”

I feel we may know who that might be... But we’ll just have to wait until Dan’s post-F1 career diary is released to know for sure.

The diary entries are said to be monthly, so we wait in anticipation for the next entry to drop in May.
