Deal hunter: GWM Tank 300 discounted as EOFY offers ramp up

Car companies are now lining up to attract buyers’ attention with end-of-financial-year (EOFY) deals permeating the marketplace, and GWM Australia is among those leading the charge.

As the Chinese brand enjoys strong sales growth this year, cracking the list of top 10 brands in recent months, GWM Australia – which is responsible for the GWM Cannon and Cannon Alpha utes, Haval SUVs, Ora EVs and Tank 4x4 off-roaders – has a wide-ranging EOFY campaign across its range.

Among those featured on carsales this week is the popular GWM Tank 300, which is available in Lux Hybrid guise for $52,990 drive-away – a handy $3000 off the regular drive-away price.

The same $3000 discount also applies to the top-shelf Ultra Hybrid, selling for $57,990 drive-away, although note that both deals apply only to Tank 300 SUVs built in the 2023 model year.

Still on 4x4s, the MY23 Isuzu D-MAX SX 4x4 crew-cab ute with 1.9-litre diesel engine (and auto transmission) is on sale from $45,990 drive-away.

This marks a $4210 saving in headline number terms compared to the dual-cab’s regular price point of $50,200 plus on-road costs – but once those ORCs are factored in, it’s much higher than that.

The manufacturer’s recommended retail list price normally requires ORCs such as dealer delivery, stamp duty, registration and compulsory third-party insurance to be added, but in this case it’s all thrown in.

Volkswagen Group Australia’s Spanish performance car brand Cupra is also drawing attention with its 2024 Cupra Leon V hot hatch, which normally retails for $45,190 plus ORCs but is currently available to drive away from the showroom at just $44,888 d/a.

That translates to thousands of dollars left in the bank, or shaved off the loan amount, with all those ORCs taken out of the equation.

Among other EOFY deals, Jeep Australia is running a 2.99 per cent finance deal on the Jeep Gladiator ute – available on Night Eagle and Rubicon (MY22 and MY23 stock) – as part of a big campaign extending to other models including the Jeep Grand Cherokee, starting from $69,950 drive-away for the MY23 Night Eagle five-seater.

Buyers in the 4x4 off-roader segment should also note the 4.0 per cent finance deal and $3500 worth of accessories added to the INEOS Grenadier until June 30.
