Deal hunter: Honda CR-V Black Edition discount, extended warranty

Plus: Mercedes-Benz Vito with three years’ free servicing; Suzuki Swift with on-road costs slashed

Honda has thrown the spotlight onto the 2023 Honda CR-V as the popular mid-size SUV enters run-out ahead of generational change that’s due to land in Australia later this year.

Specifically, the Japanese car-maker is offering the 2023 Honda CR-V Black Edition with an extended seven-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty, seven years of premium roadside assistance and, not least of all, a $2000 discount – as found on our carsales listing here.

The Honda CR-V Black Edition usually retails from $44,900 drive-away, but this end-of-financial-year (EOFY) bonus sees that figure drop to $42,900 drive-away – a welcome reduction that looks even more attractive with the reassurance of the longer warranty and roadside assist.

Over in tradie land, there’s also plenty of action in the run up to June 30 and the winding back of the generous Instant Asset Write-Off (IAWO) tax break for ABN holders that kicks in from July 1.

To lure in buyers, Mercedes-Benz Vans is offering the 2023 Mercedes-Benz Vito with three years of free serving.

This marks a saving of well over $2000 for manual versions and more than $4000 for automatic variants of the German manufacturer’s wide-ranging medium van range, with the deal available across Vito Panel Van, Tourer and Crew Cab model lines – as well as the electric eVito versions.

If you’re in the market for a compact car, Suzuki Australia is offering an attractive deal on the 2023 Suzuki Swift GL manual, slashing on-road costs to just $500 in every state and territory besides Queensland and northern New South Wales, where the Japanese brand’s models are handled by a different distributor.

That translates to savings of around $2000, depending on where the car is purchased, with the Suzuki Swift GL manual priced at $23,990 drive-away under the deal – as listed on carsales here.

The GL normally starts from $23,490 plus on-road costs.
