Deal hunter: Isuzu D-MAX adds value

Everyone loves a tempting drive-away offer on a new car, especially when it’s lower than the manufacturer’s recommended list price and comes with added equipment.

That’s a strategy Isuzu Ute Australia has employed since its new-generation Isuzu D-MAX arrived in 2020, particularly with entry-level and flagship versions of the large seven-seat SUV.

Now, the 2022 Isuzu D-MAX SX High Ride 4x2 Single Cab Chassis manual is available not only with sub-RRP drive-away pricing but an alloy tray thrown in as well.

Normally retailing for $32,200 plus on-road costs, the entry-grade D-MAX is on sale for $31,990 drive-away, with the complimentary tray injecting another couple of grand of extra value.

The offer saves buyers close to $8000 in on-road costs and accessories by the time the $1000 discount is factored in, depending on which state or territory the ute’s registered.

Suzuki Australia has also made a habit of offering its passenger vehicles at appealing drive-away prices this year, and that’s the case here too with the 2022 Suzuki Swift GLX Turbo automatic.

This force-fed little runabout usually sells for $28,790 plus on-road costs, but is currently available for $29,790 drive-away.

That means many of the on-road costs such as stamp duty, registration, compulsory third-party insurance and dealer delivery charges are included.

The catch is the offer doesn’t apply to northern New South Wales or Queensland buyers, where the Suzuki product line is handled by a different distributor.

If you’re in the market for an SUV, Kia’s latest deal on the 2022 Kia Stonic Sport automatic is worth close consideration.

Occupying the middle ground of Kia’s local Stonic line-up, the auto-equipped Sport normally has a retail price of $26,490 plus on-road costs.

However, the Korean car-maker is currently offering it for $28,190 drive-away, marking a saving of around $1500-$2500.
