Tax time may have come and gone but that doesn’t mean the deals or promotions on new vehicles have stopped coming, particularly now that supplies are improving across the marketplace.
When stock is from the previous model year, car-makers will often apply a generous deal to get them moving – and this certainly applies to the 2022 Peugeot Expert City SWB (with manual transmission) that’s our headline item this week.
Typically, the MY22 Peugeot Expert City SWB manual retails for $43,397 plus on-road costs, however the French brand is currently offering its best-selling delivery van for just $39,990 drive-away.
Not only is that a retail saving of more than $3000, it also knocks off thousands of dollars’ worth of on-road costs, depending on which state or territory you live.
The offer also applies to private buyers, so isn’t exclusive to ABN holders or fleet managers.
Elsewhere, an attractive drive-away deal is available on the 2023 Ford Puma ST-Line V, which is highly regarded in the one of the fastest-growing segments in Australia – light/small SUVs.
Positioned at the top of the local Puma line-up, the ST-Line V usually retails for $36,390 plus on-roads, but under this deal can be purchased for $38,250 drive-away – a saving of up to $2500, depending on your location, once you factor in those extra costs you’re saving here (dealer delivery, stamp duty, registration, compulsory third-party insurance, etc).
Kia is thinking along similar lines with its smallest passenger car, the base 2023 Kia Picanto S automatic, which is on special for $19,890 drive-away.
That’s down from the usual manufacturer’s recommended retail price of $17,890 plus on-road costs, which would normally push you over the $20K mark to get to the point where you can drive the Picanto away from the showroom.
