Deal hunter: Spectacular offer for Hyundai Elantra in runout

The new Hyundai i30 sedan is already with us, but stock of the superseded Hyundai Elantra remains available, and the importer is clearing that stock with an offer than can’t be easily matched.

The car that the booted i30 replaces is currently selling at $26,490 on the road, in the form of the Hyundai Elantra Active auto, and that deal includes a longer, seven-year warranty and a $1000 cash-back bonus. Normally the Elantra in this trim level sells for $26,500 before the stamp duty, registration and third-party insurance costs are added, so buyers will save thousands on those statutory charges as well.

Perhaps an SUV is more your speed though? The Renault Koleos Zen – a front-wheel drive variant with petrol engine and continuously-variable automatic transmission – could be just the ticket, priced at $35,990 on the road with the security of a seven-year warranty thrown in. That represents a $500 discount from the manufacturer’s retail list price of $36,490, plus the money saved on registration, compulsory third-party insurance and stamp duty, and the added benefit of two extra years of warranty coverage.

Finally, the Mitsubishi Triton GLX+ dual-cab pick-up with automatic transmission is currently on sale for $2000 below the manufacturer’s retail list price, with the on-road costs covered too. This variant in the Triton range retails for $43,490, but Mitsubishi is presently letting it go for $41,490 drive-away.
