The DeLorean Motor Company has released a new teaser confirming that it will launch a pure-electric sports car inspired by the original DMC.
Named the DeLorean EVolved, it's not yet known whether or not the battery-electric DMC will be a re-engineered version of an original DeLorean DMC coupe that was made from 1981-1983 or if it will be all-new from the ground up.
If it's the former, the 2022 DeLorean EVolved could be based on one of the 300 continuation models the DeLorean Motor Company said it would begin building back in 2019.
The Future was never promised. Reimagine today.

Last year, the Texas-based car-maker announced that it had teamed up with Italdesign as part of plans to revive the iconic coupe.
The link with the famous Italian styling house is that its founder, Giorgetto Giugiaro, was the man who originally designed the DMC in the late 1970s.
The latest teaser suggests that the reborn DMC will retain its trademark gullwing doors and gain a new full-width LED light bar.
There's no word on whether or not the 2022 DeLorean EVolved will be clothed in a stainless-steel body, as per the original.
Beneath the skin it's been tipped that the DMC will be the beneficiary of an all-new pure-electric powertrain that's currently being developed by both Italdesign and British firm Williams Advanced Engineering.
The new powertrain and architecture could combine up to 1000kW of power with a 1000km range.
DeLorean Motor Company has not revealed when exactly the new DMC will be revealed nor given any indication on how expensive it is likely to be when it makes its debut later this year.
