Infiniti will reportedly unveil not one but two new flagship concepts at the Detroit motor show in January.
Along with a rumoured performance EV concept that will channel elements of the hybrid Emerg-E shown in 2012, and pave the way for wider electrification, Infiniti is also planning new flagship sedan concept that will preview a new four-door production model, according to Car and Driver.
"In Detroit, we will show something about that subject which is super nice," Infiniti’s head of design, Alfonso Albaisa said in an interview this week. But don’t expect another garden-variety sedan.
"The straight sedan is losing a little bit of appeal again," said Albaisa, with the concept to be categorised as a "sexy sedan", drawing immediate comparisons with the Mercedes-Benz CLS.
Could this be another take of Infiniti’s Q80 Inspiration Concept (pictured) that made its debut in 2014?
Whatever the case, the swoopy four-door will likely be shown alongside the as-yet unnamed EV model. Based on earlier reports, the EV sports car will ride on a unique platform that will set the path for more pure electric models.
