A new 6000 square-metre motorsport precinct within Dreamworld, one of Australia's largest theme parks, will house V8 Supercar simulators, a revamped rollercoaster and the largest collection of Peter Brock racing cars.
Due to open at the Gold Coast tourist destination after Christmas this year, the new motorsport attractions have been designed to appeal to rev-heads and will offer a range of automotive-themed dining options.
The star attraction, a rollercoaster, represents a 're-themeing' of the existing Cyclone rollercoaster, although plenty of capital has gone into securing what the theme park claims is the world's largest collection of Peter Brock racing cars.
Vehicles that will be on display as part of a 'high-tech' walk-through range from Brock's 1972 Torana XU-1 all the way up to 1980s Commodores and The Big Banger, the 1984 Group C VK Commodore.
Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson reckons the new attraction will have broad appeal, and said the Brock race car display of around 30 vehicles will surprise people.
"There is nothing 'museum' about this. It's a motorsport-themed thrill-ride precinct anchored by a celebration of Australian motorsport and Brock's achievements from the 1970s through to his modern day legacy.
"We are working closely with the Brock family and our partners to ensure the attraction is authentic and like nothing experienced in Australia before," said Davidson.
As well as the rollercoaster and the Brock race cars, there will also be six 'state-of-the-art' V8 Supercar racing simulators. They will give punters an 'immersive' experience and allow friends and families to race each other on all circuits featured in the V8 Supercar series.
Dreamworld was also recently home to the Australian finals of the Nissan PlayStation GT Academy.
