
The iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Class family is expanding, with the German marque’s new G-Class Cabriolet confirmed for production, and dynamic road and track testing kicking off in Austria. The drop-top G-Wagen aims to deliver an authentic open-air experience while retaining the G-Class’s iconic character.
Following strong interest after initial teasers, Mercedes-Benz is putting the G-Class Cabriolet through its paces on European roads.
Engineers are gathering data to ensure the model combines off-road capability with an open-top design that meets the brand’s high standards.
The testing program will soon move to Sweden, where the Cabriolet will face icy temperatures and snow to validate its robustness and reliability.
While technical details remain under wraps, Mercedes-Benz says the newcomer will “redefine expectations and inspire adventure.”
