Eco bags from Maserati brochures

Green is this year's black, with prestige car company's brochures destined for recycling as fashion accessories

Maserati dealers are stocking up on three fashion commodities for those who like to wear their loyalty to the Italian supercar marque alongside their commitment to the environment.

Momaboma is not a name with which we're familiar, but apparently they successfully melded redundant Maserati brochures into a limited production run of leather handbags. Rather than pulp the brochures, Maserati handed them over to Momaboma to recycle as a hand-made fashion accessory and the end result has been highly sought after by the fashion-conscious.

"Last year we simply could not get enough of the first Momaboma for Maserati bags to meet demand in Australia and New Zealand," says Edward Butler, General Manager of Maserati Australia and New Zealand.

For this year, Momaboma will offer two different designs of bag, one for the office and one for shopping, along with a notebook/diary-holder. Momaboma -- company slogan: "Invert the world" -- is committed to reducing waste and in the process, producing attractive items that consumers will covet.

"Clearly these unique bags struck a chord with Australians and New Zealanders looking for the ultimate in recycled style," says Butler. "So this year we are already carrying stock of the Momaboma for Maserati Office Ecobag and we are ready to take orders for the Shopping bag and the note book, but with just 100 of them available worldwide, if you want one, you will need to visit your Maserati dealer very quickly!"

If there's one point that might pull you up in your tracks as you dash down to your nearest Maserati dealer with a wad of cash in hand, it's the size of the wad you'll need. The 'Momaboma for Maserati Office Eco Bag' will set you back $595. The price of saving the environment plainly doesn't come cheap these days, but the Momaboma accessories are probably cheaper than anything else you could buy through a Maserati dealer.
