EFIJY concept heads to Dubai

America's favourite Australian hot rod will appear on the GM stand at the Dubai Motor Show

Holden's EFIJY is on the way to the Middle East, to bolster GM's presence there.

Hand-built on a Corvette platform and reviving the style of the FJ Holden from 1953, the EFIJY has been a hit, both at home and abroad.

Named the 2007 North American Concept Car of the Year and Hot Rod of the Year in the United States, the EFIJY is expected to thrill the crowds in Dubai, just as it has done at the American motor shows where it has appeared.

Designer Richard Ferlazzo will be accompanying the concept car to Dubai, where it will take part in the 'General Motors Style Event'.

The Style Event has been GM's principal promotional function at the NAIAS in Detroit and has featured Eva Longoria, Justin Timberlake, Carmen Electra and Matthew Perry taking part. It's the first time such a promotional event has been run in Dubai and commences November 11, with the motor show opening to the public on November 14.

Although the Holden name will not figure prominently in the proceedings, the Australian arm of GM will be heavily involved with the exhibition, since the company has designed the Chevrolet Camaro and the CSV version of the HSV ClubSport R8, all of which are appearing at the show.
