The 2026 MG S6 EV has made its local debut at this year’s Melbourne motor show, with the Chinese car-maker confirming the larger and ‘more premium’ SUV for local launch but not yet locked in a firm arrival date.

Making its local debut alongside the luxurious IM LS9 electric SUV, the mid-size MG S6 is set to be offered in single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD forms.
Underpinned by the brand’s MSP architecture as per the S5 EV already on sale Down Under, the S6 EV is expected to come offered with a 77kWh battery pack, claimed to offer around 530km of driving range.
According to MG, rapid DC charging will see the battery recharged from 10 to 80 per cent 38 minutes.

Full powertrain details are yet to be confirmed, however, it’s likely to borrow the 180kW/350Nm single- and 266kW/540Nm dual-motor offered in the smaller S5.
Other equipment expected to feature – based on its UK debut – includes a 12.8-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch driver’s instrument cluster and MG’s Pilot Assist driver aids.

For those in Melbourne, the 2026 MG S6 EV will be on display at this weekend’s motor show, with MG Motor Australia still to lock in a local on-sale date.
