Elfin, Australia’s own sportscar builder has announced cuts of up to $20,000 across its two-model MS8 sportscar range.
The cuts, dubbed a "price re-alignment" by Elfin boss Chris Payne, sees the price of the Streamliner model reduced from $119,990 to $99,990 and the Clubman trimmed from $98,990 to $84,990. Both prices are plus ORCS.
According to Elfin the re-alignment is in response to customer feedback. It sees the specifications of the cars pared back to better suit on-road use.
Says Elfin: "Elfin will offer a greater level of choice in the specification, with some of the previous track oriented features now placed onto the options list.
"Potential customers have expressed a desire for a more affordable Elfin, without the complexity and cost of features such as the fully race adjustable suspension and brakes. These and other track derived features will now be options. At the same time the base car will lose none of its high performance appeal, and now with the revised pricing it will be within reach for more potential Elfin owners."
Recently purchased by HSV-owner Tom Walkinshaw (for more click here), the company gained ADR compliance for its two V8-powered sporties in late 2006. In recent months it has also appointed a dealer network as well as commenced operations in the UK and NZ.
Elfin celebrates its 50th Anniversary in 2007 and unveiled a special commemorative Streamliner model at the Melbourne Motor Show last month (pictured).
