TeamVodafone has just launched a new mobile phone application exclusive to its Ovi Store that gives Nokia phone owners an insight into the comings and goings of a modern day V8 Supercar team. And it's free.
Called "Inside TeamVodafone", the mobile application is "the first of its kind from a motor sporting team in Australia" and promises to "give motoring enthusiasts an access-all-areas insight into the championship winning team," claims TeamVodafone.
As well as interviews with drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes, the new mobile app also delivers inside info from all team members, including mechanics and even engineers. For die-hard V8 Supercar (and Holden) fans, this alone should warrant a closer look.
TeamVodafone Principal Roland Dane explains how the application differs from anything else on the market by employing an element of social networking, as well as providing exclusive content.
Roland Dane, the TeamVodafone Principal, said the new application is unlike anything seen in Australia: "The difference is that a community of users will effectively become the 'inner circle' of TeamVodafone. They will have the chance to partake in forums and discussions about the team and the championship, create photo galleries, upload video and images and view all live content as it is regularly updated.
"Inside TeamVodafone is a first for motor sports fans in Australia and is like no other application available out there today. It's very exciting," added Dane.
Other features of the Inside TeamVodafone app include track information, round-by-round news updates and "access to exclusive features and opportunities" according to the media statement.
Only certain Nokia phones will run the application, such as the Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia 5230 and Nokia X6. However more Nokia devices are on the list to be added in due course. Check out the details at Store.ovi.com, or Nokia.com.au/teamvodafone.
