New web-delivered service caters for those passionate about their carsEnthusiast underwriting is a new website that provides 'specialist motor insurance' for vehicles that fall through the safety net afforded by mainstream insurers.
The type of cars that are often left on the sidelines by the big guns in motor vehicle insurance include older, classic cars, modern classics, modified cars and low-volume imports. While a larger insurer will actively discourage owners with cars that are hard to repair for lack of parts or are expensive to replace in the event of a total constructive loss, Enthusiast Underwriting has been established to look after owners in exactly that situation.
Established by company directors Peter Morgan, Steve Walter and part-time Carsales Network contributor Cliff Chambers, Enthusiast Underwriting (www.enthusiast.com.au) claims to be staffed by employees who actually know about cars and appreciate them.
Insurance cover arranged through the website is underwritten by Ansvar Insurance Limited and can be tailored to suit a specific situation, whether the car is to be insured during a ground-up restoration, for example, or whether the policyholder requires a standard comprehensive policy or cover for a recreational/club permit vehicle.
