Everything Electric Sydney draws record crowd

Everything Electric Sydney has recorded its strongest result yet, attracting 37,421 visitors across three days at Sydney Showground in September 2026. The attendance figure marks a 20.44 per cent increase over the previous Sydney event, while more than 5300 electric-vehicle test drives were completed across 104 vehicles.

The event also generated extensive coverage across carsales platforms, with our editorial team reporting on major vehicle launches, Australian debuts and future product plans from a rapidly expanding EV market.

Held from 18-20 September at Sydney Showground, the fourth edition of Everything Electric Sydney delivered its biggest audience yet as Australians flocked to learn more about electric vehicles, home energy systems and emerging clean-energy technology. Organisers said attendance increased by more than 20 per cent compared with the previous Sydney event, while exhibitors reported strong interest from consumers across the three days.

More than 5300 electric-vehicle test drives were completed during the event. While this was down on the previous Sydney show, organisers attributed the reduction primarily to a smaller test-drive fleet rather than lower consumer demand, with average vehicle utilisation remaining broadly in line with earlier events.

The show floor also proved a rich source of editorial content for carsales, with journalists covering a wide range of launches, debuts and future-model announcements. Among the highlights were the Australian debut of the new Lepas L6 EV and Hyundai's unveiling of the STARIA Load Electric.

Visitors also got their first look at future Geely products including the Battleship 700 off-road SUV, Emgrand L EM-i sedan and Monjaro EM-i large SUV, while brands including GAC, GWM and Chery used the event to preview upcoming vehicles destined for Australian showrooms.

Other notable reveals included the GAC S7 PHEV, the new GWM Haval H7 PHEV and the Lepas L4 EV. And those were just some of the vehicles covered by carsales, with many more models, technologies and brand announcements appearing throughout the event.

carsales also collaborated directly with Everything Electric on a dedicated video feature, with Everything Electric presenter Elliot Richards and carsales Editorial Director Feann Torr taking viewers on a walk-through of the event.

The pair explored some of the show's biggest attractions, examined newly revealed electric vehicles and highlighted the breadth of EV technology now arriving in Australia.

Everything Electric Global CEO Dan Caesar said the record attendance reflected growing consumer interest in electrification and energy-saving technologies.

"Battery-electric vehicles have accounted for more than one in five new-car sales in recent months, and this record turnout makes one thing clear: Australia has broken through an important barrier in the battery-electric transition and is back on track to become an electrification superpower."

Everything Electric Sydney will return to Sydney Showground from 10-12 September 2027, with organisers also holding provisional dates for September 2028.

The next event will mark the fifth Sydney edition and comes as an increasing number of manufacturers use the show as a launch platform for new EVs, plug-in hybrids and clean-energy products.

Following the success of the 2026 event, exhibitors and organisers alike will be aiming to build on a record-breaking year when the show returns.
