Former Jaguar design chief, Ian Callum, has released three sketches of the Aston Martin Vanquish 25 for UK kids sent home from school in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak to colour in.
The sketches, posted by CALLUM – the British designer's new studio – depict the Vanquish 25 in different scenarios, including one involving an elephant lending a trunk to help wash the Aston.
According to CALLUM, colouring in for young children has a soothing affect and has been proven to help calm the brain's fear centre.
Apart from releasing the sketches, kids are being encouraged to post their finished creations on social media with the hashtag #colourwithcallum to have their coloured-in efforts judged, with prizes offered for the best drawings. The relevance of the Vanquish, and not a more recent Jaguar, is that Ian Callum designed the V12-powered coupe back when he worked for Aston in 2001 and then updated it almost two decades later at CALLUM to create the Vanquish 25.
Just 25 of the million-dollar two-seat Vanquish 25s were made, with each car getting upgrades to the design, steering and braking.Under the bonnet, the 5.9-litre normally-aspirated V12 also produced an extra 45kW, boosting total power to a more muscular 432kW.
