Faraday Future teases its SUV (again)

Electric car maker gives us its clearest glimpse yet of what could be the world's fastest SUV

Faraday Future has teased its Tesla Model X rival just a day after the car-maker released a teasing video that showed its first vehicle going head-to-head with a Ferrari 488 GTB, Bentley Bentayga and Model X.

This teaser is more traditional and shows a new shadowy image of the firm's pure-electric SUV's rounded nose.

Designed by former BMW i3 and i8 designer, Richard Kim, the SUV appears to feature a radical LED light bar, mesh grille and illuminated 'F' logo.  The front screen also suggests a full panoramic roof and a short, stubby front bonnet.

Due on sale in 2018, the unnamed pure-electric vehicle is likely to be the fastest SUV ever built.

Based on the YouTube video teased yesterday, it could be faster than a Ferrari 488 GTB, meaning it will hit 100km/h in just 2.6 seconds.

It’s also very likely the new Tesla Model X rival will come with a powerful 100kWh lithium-ion battery that will provide for a range of at least 500km.

All will be revealed when the teasing stops and the still-to-be-named SUV will be unveiled at the 2017 CES show in Las Vegas.
