A handful of exciting, exotic and famously owned cars are heading to auction this June at Barrett-Jackson’s World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions on the Las Vegas Strip.
Among the most notable items to head to the blocks will be the original “10-second car,” a 1994 Toyota Supra that starred in two of The Fast and the Furious films and driven by Paul Walker. A 2015 McLaren P1 originally owned by electronic music producer and professional DJ Deadmau5 will also be up for grabs.
Driven by Paul Walker, the 1994 Toyota Supra was used for multiple interior and exterior shots during the making of The Fast and the Furious and 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious. The Supra is a factory turbo, powered by the famed 2JZ-GTE 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-6 engine. Extensive documentation accompanies the vehicle, including a Certificate of Authenticity.
For hypercar lovers, the 2015 McLaren P1 up for auction is number 236 of only 375 cars produced and can reach 193 km/h in 6.8 seconds. This McLaren was originally owned by Canadian electronic music producer Deadmau5 and has only travelled 290 kilometres.
"There’s a shortlist of vehicles that have made movie history, like the Toyota Supra from The Fast and the Furious franchise," said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. "This Supra became a movie character that generations of enthusiasts have come to love.
"Few opportunities come around to own cultural icons like The Fast and the Furious Supra, or the hypercar performance found in a McLaren P1. This year’s Las Vegas Auction is going to deliver on everything we love about the car collector hobby."
The auction will be held in Las Vegas, USA between the 17th and 19th of June 2021. More details on both the Toyota Supra and the McLaren P1 can be found here.
