Your Dad will get the chance to drive like a real racer for the day, learning from professional drivers and engineers.
A comprehensive drive briefing is followed by car and track familiarisation to learn correct race lines. Sherrin's race engineers also explain the capabilities and benefits of data acquisition before the first warm up session.
Sherrin MotorSport's instructors also help drivers find improvements in technique and lap times. The instructors then debrief drivers' on track performance after each session.
The drive day includes some hot laps on track, and a certificate is presented to participants upon completion of the coaching.
A choice of three Race Experience days is available. Instruction using a Porsche Carrera Cup car starts at $4655, or MINI for $2180. Sherrin MotorSport also offers a day of race experience in a BMW 1 Series for $1450.
Sherrin MotorSport has a range of drive day packages available. Packages start at $325 for the Skid Pan course, which is designed to help drivers become safer and more aware whilst receiving tips from experts on car control and skid control techniques.
Track day packages, starting at $435, take place at Morgan Park, Queensland Raceway, Eastern Creek, Phillip Island and Bathurst, and include a non-competitive day with plenty of track time and one-on-one tuition.
A two-day 'Master Class' is offered to the "serious driver" wishing to improve skills in aspects of high performance driving. The programme recaps the basics, teaches advanced techniques and touches on the "secrets" of expert driving.
The Master Class culminates in a series of timed sprints around Morgan Park, Queensland. The two-day package costs $1515 and includes meals and accommodation.
Sherrin MotorSport is holding a Track Day next week, on the 5th September from 8am to 4pm at Queensland Raceway. The day includes free lapping among drivers of similar experience, divided into groups alternating on track in sessions. All drivers will be regularly assessed on skill levels and graded into groups accordingly.
The Porsche Centre Brisbane will be joining Sherrin MotorSport for the Track Day, showcasing its latest line-up. The day costs $435.
