It's the fastest production model Ferrari has ever built, and 18 months after production began, the first Australian delivery of the F12berlinetta has arrived.
As the newest member of the Ferrari family, the front-mid engine, rear-wheel drive F12berlinetta boasts an impressive set of figures. Its 6.3-litre V12 engine develops 544kW and 690Nm -- enough to whisk the slinky coupe to 100km/h in 3.1 seconds.
The F12berlinetta is touted as having a top speed "in excess of 340km/h".
And it's not all straight-line speed, either. Ferrari says the F12berlinetta is capable of lapping its Fiorano test track in 1 minute 23 seconds. That's a whole second quicker than the 599 GTO and two seconds faster than the Enzo Ferrari, 458 Italia, and 430 Scuderia.
The winner of multiple international design and performance awards the F12berlinetta is said by its maker to "redefine classic themes". By the same token, the car offers a suite of modern aerodynamic advancements -- many the result of Ferrari's work in F1 and with the 599XX programme -- and the kind of newfound mechanical efficiency expected of Ferrari's most powerful, high-performance model.
"We are extremely excited to have the F12berlinetta arrive in Australia," said Ferrari Australasia CEO, Herbert Appleroth. "It sets a new benchmark for extreme sports cars and will be the epitome of the Ferrari range offered to our clients."
If you happen to have a spare $691,100 (plus on-road costs) and would like to join the waiting list, Ferrari Australasia advises that new customers face an 18-month wait.
The first deliveries of pre-existing customer orders will be filled within the coming months.
