BMW's facelift of the F20 generation 1 Series has been reported already, but the range-topping M135i has finally broken cover overnight.
Arguably finding more street cred from its cosmetic upgrade, the M135i is distinguished from other 1 Series models and the current variant by larger front air intakes and external mirrors finished in M Performance Ferric Grey.
Still boasting straight-six turbocharged power, the M135 is now Euro 6 compliant and produces 243kW, up from 235kW currently. Torque remains at 450Nm. Fuel consumption (7.5L/100km) and acceleration (0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds) are unlikely to change from the current car's, with the arrival of the facelifted model in Australia – around July of this year.
The default eight-speed automatic transmission has been revised, for the sake of improved efficiency and reduced NVH. Ratios may be higher for the Aussie market – as they are elsewhere.
