UPDATE 19/05/2021 4:40pm: It's the end of an era. The final new Holden Commodore listed at carsales, a ZB Sportwagon, has finally been sold.
UPDATE 27/04/2021 10:00am: One of final two Holden ZB Commodores listed at carsales has now been sold, leaving just one new Holden for sale.
Original article published 10/04/2021: Owners of discontinued Holden V8s might be cashing in right now, but there are still potentially lucrative deals to be done on new Holden Commodores.
Well, two of them anyway -- the last two on carsales…
But they’re not fire-breathing rear-drive homegrown muscle cars. Rather, the final new Commodores are imported front-drive four-cylinder Opel-sourced models.
The final pair of new Holdens is listed alongside 77 dealer demos and almost 10,000 used examples.
They’re both entry-level ZB Commodore LTs powered by 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with nine-speed automatic transmissions.
The first is a white MY20 Commodore liftback built in June 2020 and with just 11km on the clock, available from a Victorian dealership for $32,500 drive-away – a snip compared to its last RRP of $33,690 plus ORCs.
The second is a pristine Absolute Red MY18 Sportwagon built in November 2017. Nowra City Holden doesn’t list how many kays are under its belt and says buyers should enquire for its price.
No, you might not double your money like some owners of low-km VFII SS sedans and utes claim, but both of these underrated German vehicles could make their new owners money. One day.
