First look at the all-new Batmobile shows muscle car styling
The Batman is the latest reboot for DC Comics starring Robert Pattinson as Batman and a fresh take on the iconic car.The film’s director Matt Reeves recently tweeted several images of the new Batmobile, which is the world’s first look at the Caped Crusader's latest ride, which looks to be a big departure from the most recent designs.
While previous Batmobiles from the Christian Bale and Ben Affleck eras have been more abstract Mad Max style machines, the images posted on Twitter from Reeves show a more old school American muscle car look for the upcoming Robert Pattinson reboot.
From the rear, you can see what looks to be V8 or V10 engine prominently protruding out In a call back to the original Batman series, the circular exhaust is centralised in the rear of the car too. The rest of the images show a silhouette that draws strong parallels with American muscle cars of the 1960s and 1970s with its sharp angles, long bonnet and flared wheel arches.
The new film is set for release in June 2021 with the plot of ‘The Batman’ to cover the very early stages of Batman’s crime-fighting career in Gotham City. As well as Robert Pattinson, expect to see Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman (The Lego Batman Movie), Jeffrey Wright (Boardwalk Empire, No Time to Die) as James Gordon and Paul Dano (Looper, 12 Years a Slave) as the Riddler,
