Fisker teases scissor-door Tesla fighter
Follow-up to ill-fated Karma to get radical dihedral doors, 650km rangeHenrik Fisker has teased another image of the pure-electric vehicle he hopes will steal sales from the Tesla Model S.
Featuring McLaren supercar-style dihedral doors, the new Fisker is clearly more four-door coupe than conventional sedan and is confirmed for production.
And the doors shown on the computer rendering are likely to make it to the production vehicle.
Claimed to be on sale by the second half of 2017, the new pure-electric car is claimed to have a range of more than 650km and features what Fisker is calling pioneering new battery technology that has been developed in-house, rather than bought in.
The advantage of the new batteries is that they're claimed to last the entire lifetime of the car -- far longer than any of its rivals while offering a far greater range than any current production EV.
Fisker also says the cells use far less lithium than conventional lithium ion cells.
Once the car-brand launches its Model S rival, Fisker has already confirmed a cheaper, subsequent mass-market vehicle that could become a rival for the Tesla Model 3.
