For No Time To Die, the 25th James Bond film, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology. Drastic times calls for drastic measures and the new film does not disappoint in the car stakes for fans.
While the film's premiere has been moved from April 2020 to at least November due to the Corona virus outbreak, we still thought it would be a good idea to look at the iconic cars from the past, present and future, set to hit the screen. Here are five to get you excited.
The DB5 is the car that started it all for Aston Martin’s bond with the 007 franchise when it debuted in the 1964 film Goldfinger. The car made such an impression on that first outing that it has since appeared in six more Bond films including Thunderball, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, Casino Royale, Skyfall and Spectre. The DB5 will now be able to add an eighth appearance to its film credits for No Time To Die.
An Aston Martin V8 Vantage, similar to the one first seen in the 1987 Bond film The Living Daylights will also star in the latest instalment. Although the car was first released about a decade before Timothy Dalton’s Bond debut, the V8 Vantage was both the fastest four-seat production car of its day and Britain’s first true ‘supercar’. Making its return for No Time To Die, we expect this classic to be jam packed with classic Q extras such as spiked tyres, skis, lasers, and missiles which the car had in its 1987 adventures.
007 star Daniel Craig, director Cary Fukunaga and the #Bond25 crew were out in the sunshine today shooting across a number of London locations, including Whitehall, where Daniel filmed a scene with a classic @astonmartin V8, first seen in a Bond film in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS. pic.twitter.com/rhs13nNeyW

An Aston Martin making its debut on the big screen will be the brand’s flagship model, the DBS Superleggera. This super fast and super modern sports car will be driven by new 00 agent Nomi, played by Lashana Lynch. In 2019, Aston Martin released a special-edition DBS Superleggera to celebrate 50 years since the release of the sixth James Bond film, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Making a cameo appearance in No Time To Die will be the Aston Martin Valhalla. The Valhalla is Aston’s revolutionary mid-engined sports car that is not due for release until 2021 and will only have a production of 500 vehicles. They don’t come cheap either, priced at £1 million ($A1.9m), no wonder it is only going to make a cameo appearance in the film, we know how Bond drives…
As well as Aston Martin, Land Rover has been a mainstay of the Bond franchise and for film 25, they’ve certainly upped the ante. The all-new Land Rover Defender will be a key player in No Time To Die with the brand’s design team and 007 Special Effects team finessing the look of the vehicle so it fits perfectly into the iconic film series. Land Rover has been long associated with Bond films, with it all starting back in 1983 when a Range Rover Convertible appeared in Octopussy.
