Five reasons to visit the Aftermarket Expo

Event organisers advise that the expo this year, jointly held with the Collision Repair Expo, is "Australia's largest automotive industry event". It's hard to argue to the contrary when the expo will occupy 21,000m² of floor space at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The expo showcases parts, tools and services catering to the needs of businesses operating in the vehicle repair industry. Even if you don't own a business – but are considering joining the industry, or just want to fit out your garage at home – the expo is certain to appeal.
And here are five reasons to get off the couch and make your way to 'Jeff's Shed' between Thursday, April 4 and Saturday April 6:
1. It's big
Over 400 companies will be present over the three days, each exhibitor displaying a range of parts, tools, accessories and services aimed at trade customers. And business seminars conducted at the expo will provide valuable insights for visitors.
2. See two for the 'price' of one
Visitors registering for the expo can also attend the 2019 Collision Repair Expo (CRE) at no cost. The CRE will be populated by nearly 100 exhibitors, some of whom will be demonstrating their wares to panel-repair business owners.
3. Get the lowdown from experts
Both the AAA Expo and the CRE are great venues for networking and establishing contacts with supporting businesses in the industry. And everything you could ever want to know or see is gathered together under the one roof.
4. It places the industry in perspective
Maybe your business is a 'ma and pa' operation and you feel that your part in the broader industry is insignificant, but the AAA Expo and the CRE illustrates the importance of that industry. Over 40,000 Aussies work in the aftermarket industry, which sells over $1 billion worth of locally-manufactured automotive components each year.
5. It costs trade members nothing
Entry is free if you're a trade member, and registering for the event in advance will get you access to the CRE as well. The event organisers strongly recommend registering before the show opens its doors so you can avoid queues on the day. More information is available at the expo website and the CRE.
