Flagship 2024 Hyundai i30 N Premium gets comfier

Korean hot hatch’s optional new Comfort Pack swaps out the lightweight buckets for plusher sport seats

The 2024 Hyundai i30 N Premium with Sunroof DCT hot hatch flagship is now available with the no-cost option of a ‘Comfort Pack’ that adds power-adjustable, suede and leather-trimmed N Sports front seats with driver’s memory function.

The new pews are actually the same ones fitted to the pre-facelifted Hyundai i30 N Premium – and the current base i30 N but minus the power adjustment and suede/leather – and replace the Alcantara/leather-clad ‘N Light’ seats that are standard in all facelifted i30 Premium variants.

Manual adjustment of the illuminated buckets and their sleeker design allows for a lower driving position and more support during spirited and/or track work, but Hyundai acknowledges that not all i30 Ns venture onto the circuit – hence the release of the Comfort Pack.

The band has confirmed to carsales the optional pack will be available on all new i30 N Premium with Sunroof DCT orders for the foreseeable future, meaning it should also apply to the upcoming facelift we expect to launch Down Under next quarter.

Hyundai is staying tight-lipped about the reveal and release of its second i30 N update, however, previous comments by local product planning and development manager Tim Rodgers point to the debut being imminent, given production was transitioning to the updated model several months ago.

“Obviously because we’re so far away, that’s going to take some time to get to us, but it does mean that we’ll be ready to reveal those cars really soon – really, really soon – and we’ll have better timelines in the next few months,” he said back in March.

“Our plan originally was towards the end of the year.”

Until then, the current 2024 Hyundai i30 N is in plentiful stock nationally, with some 387 units ready for immediate delivery and another 352 on the way, though the split between manual and automatic is unclear.

The facelift is expected to bring some mild cosmetic changes, minor chassis enhancements, an updated interior and more modern technology – think digital instrument cluster, connected services, etc – but no extra firepower.
