Focus gets the nod

Ford has just announced that Focus will be the third model to be built on the Broadmeadows production line

Ford will produce a new model Focus at Broadmeadows from 2011. The $180 million program will see both petrol and diesel versions of the new generation car built alongside Falcon and Territory at the Melbourne plant.

Ford says the program will produce up to 300 new jobs and eventually 1000 additional jobs for suppliers.

The company is aiming to produce 40,000 units of Focus, once production is up to speed.
