It's a step that can only reassure customers getting a bit nervous about the company's future intentions: Ford Australia has just announced an extension of its myFord Capped Price Servicing programme from six years and 105,000km to seven years and 135,000km.
Ford Australia has also added new elements to the programme, including a Capped Price Brake programme that offers fixed pricing on brake callipers, rear brake pads and rotor machining (The programme does not apply to F-Series, FPV, ST, XR5 and Transit models).
Another new aspect is the Auto Club Programme in which Ford has partnered with auto clubs in each state to include 12 months free membership of the relevant club on purchase of a new Ford (excluding FPV vehicles and Transit Custom) from a participating dealer. This includes the RACV, RACT, RACQ, AANT, RAA, NRMA and RAC.
According to Ford Australia General Manager, Customer Service Division, Stephen Kruk, "The addition of the Auto Club Programme is another customer-focused offering that Ford owners will enjoy,
"Customers expect this level of certainty from their dealers and we're happy to say that since it was introduced in July 2011, the programme has been very well received by our customers. The level of service retention – those customers returning to Ford dealers – increased by 13,000 in 2013, as a direct result of the myFord Capped Price Servicing programme."
The myFord Capped Price Servicing is available on all Ford vehicles built from 2007. Customers can determine the maximum amount to be charged for a standard A or B logbook service for up to seven years, or 135,000km (whichever comes first) by going to the Ford website www.ford.com.au/myfordcps.
