Ford has added more than 180 brochures and images of Australian-made models produced between 1960 and 2002 to the Ford Heritage Vault, one of the auto industry’s most comprehensive public online databases.
Available to Ford enthusiasts as free downloads for personal use, the historical vehicle resource was opened in June 2022, when 5000 images of mostly North American vehicles were made available to Ford fans, car enthusiasts and journalists.
To date, almost 12,000 curated Ford and Lincoln photographs and product brochures from the first century of the US car-maker’s history have been made available to the public online for the first time.

Ford says the website is currently attracting around 5000 downloads per day, with Australian search volume ranking this country among the top five of more than 170 countries whose visitors have searched the vault.
Now, almost 100 years since the Ford Motor Company of Australia Ltd was founded in 1925, the Heritage Vault includes the first tranche of Aussie content, including images and brochures of Ford Australia’s most interesting and iconic models.

For now, this list extends from Anglia to Zephyr and almost everything in between, including Escort, Econovan, Falcon, Meteor, Spectron, Transit and more.
“We’re opening up in a way we’ve never done before,” said Ted Ryan, Ford archive and heritage brand manager.

“Making our archives accessible for everyone online is a real passion project for me and the team. Looking back through Ford’s history not only helps to educate but can serve as inspiration as we accelerate our transformation as a company.”
Among several Australian gems is the 1975 Ford Escort Outback boasting a pop-top roof, awning, couch and optional 12V fridge, Peter Barnes’ “near bullet-proof” 1993 Ford Courier and a 2002 Ford Falcon Ute brochure covering the 172kW XR6 and 200kW XR8.
You can visit the Ford Heritage Vault at the car-maker’s dedicated website, where local content can be found by typing ‘Australia’ in the search bar.
