Ford Mach E is new name for Mustang-inspired SUV

Initially, Ford said its pure-electric SUV would carry the name 'Mach 1' but those plans are believed to have been dropped after a growing number of hard-core Mustang fans began lobbying the car-maker over concerns a battery-powered crossover would damage the original Mach 1's legacy.
Ford has already released glimpses of both the Mustang-inspired SUV's front- and rear-ends, the former featuring a glowing blue emblem, but has so far not officially confirmed it has caved into enthusiasts demands to rename the zero-emission SUV, which will be rolled out globally in 2020.
