What would happen if two of Ford’s most popular global products, the Mustang sports car and Ranger dual-cab ute, stumble into a giant industrial-sized blender?
This thing, the Rapstang MkII.
The quirky render is a more realistic mélange of the Ford Mustang and F-150 Raptor than we’ve seen in the past – namely in the form of the Ford Rapstang MkI.
The re-imagined pick-up comes courtesy of K-Design and instead of looking like a jacked-up Mustang with huge off-road tyres, this dual-cab ute blends the muscle car’s front end with the Ford F-150 Raptor’s body.
It even has the bold-lettered ‘FORD’ grille, making it look more practical and adventurous than the Mk1 Rapstang.
Still, considering Ford is busy at work on its upcoming all-electric F-150 and the next-generation Ranger Raptor, we must ask the question: how many pick-ups do we need?
Given we’re already meandering through a fantasy land, what would even power such a beast?
There are several donks that’d be capable of pulling the imaginary Ford Mustang-Raptor, including the current Mustang GT’s 5.0-litre V8 (339kW/556Nm), or even the current F-150’s twin-turbo-petrol V6 (335kW/690Nm).
There’s also the high-output hybrid turbo V6 that’s just been revealed for the next F-150 or even the good old 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel donk used by the Ranger Raptor ute and Everest SUV.
What will they think of next, a Bugatti Raptor!? Wait...
