Ford to reveal ‘new model’ in Spain, thought to be refreshed Kuga

Blue Oval says it will launch something new at Barcelona event -- could be an upgraded Kuga

Ford has announced it will be revealing a new model at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona, Spain, on February 22.

Ford hasn’t announced whar it will reveal but according to reports, it will almost certainly unveil a facelifted Kuga SUV.

The midlife update for Ford's mid-size SUV in Europe is likely to be almost identical to the facelifted US-spec model (known as the Escape) that was shown off at last year’s LA motor show, although the Euro-spec Kuga might get some subtle stylistic differences.

The big changes to the small SUV occur inside, where the SUV gains Ford’s latest SYNC3 infotainment system that allows the Kuga to be unlocked, and even started, remotely.

The Kuga should also gain autonomous emergency braking, fatigue detection, active cruise control and a self-parking feature.

The US-spec Escape also gains a refreshed engine range but it’s still not known which engines will make the journey Down Under, or when.
