Appealing to the rev head in every British van driver is the new-look Ford Transit SportVan.
Only 80 of these dynamic vans will be made, all of which are finished with head-turning GT stripes. Featuring twin exhaust pipes, the tarted-up Ford Transit is also fitted with a number of aero upgrades such as front and rear spoilers, flared wheel arches and side skirts.
Due to its 18-inch alloy wheels shod with 235/45 low profile tyres, the eye-catching Ford Transit SportVan is expected to deliver higher levels of grip than standard vans. Power comes from a 2.2-litre TDCi turbodiesel four-cylinder mill that drops 103kW onto the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The interior has also been spruced up with fancy velour trim, a six-stacker CD stereo, cruise control, leather gearshifter and steering wheel, steering column-mounted audio controls, plus a perimeter alarm to keep the thieves away.
As well as the white paint job with blue stripes seen in the photos, Ford UK offers the SportVan in black and grey body colours, both with silver stripes.
Priced on-the-road at £22,030, that works out to around A$45,000. But with only 80 units rolling off the production line, this rare model is expected to be highly sought after.
