More images have surfaced from master spy photographers Carparazzi showing Ford's next-generation 'T6' Ranger undergoing testing.
Following images we received last year, the latest batch of pics give little away, Ford's heavy cladding hiding a lot of design detail which is anticipated to be more robust of stance and larger of proportions.
Major changes are also expected in terms of engine line-up, aimed at broadening the model's global appeal. New 2.2- and 3.2-litre Duratorq TDCI common-rail diesels will lead the charge, with naturally aspirated 2.5-litre petrol and forced induction 2.0-litre EcoBoost mills also on offer. All engines will be of in-line four-cylinder configuration.
Six-speed manual and automatic transmissions are also expected, as are two- and four-wheel drive configurations.
Our snappers also told us the interior is sleeker than the current Ranger, and features a multifunction steering wheel and centre stack gauge cluster reminiscent of that spotted in the all-new Ford Fiesta and Focus models. Unfortunately their lens just couldn't get close enough.
Production of the new Ford Ranger is reported to commence next year.
