Ford's Small But Mighty investment

Ford shows its commitment to investing in Australian communities and innovation with series of short films

Despite Ford ceasing its Australian manufacturing in 2016, it continues to voice its commitment in Australian communities and innovation.

This year alone the company has invested $300 million, and nearly $2 billion in the past six years in local R&D.

Ford has also invested in Australian film maker Ellenor Argyropoulos for the company’s new Small But Mighty campaign, with the independent Aussie being selected to create one of a series of short films.

Inspired by the company’s range of EcoBoost engines, the Small But Mighty series was created by five emerging film makers from around the world – including Argyropoulos, to celebrate small acts and ideas that pack a mighty punch

President and CEO of Ford Australia, Graeme Whickman, reiterated Ford’s strong commitment to Australian investment in the wake of the closure of its factories in a year’s time.

“Ford supports innovation in many different forms,” he said.

“From our $300 million (in) local investment in R&D for local vehicle innovation, to supporting emerging film makers to create compelling short films, Ford is proud to be involved.”

Film makers were given the challenge to come up with short films that represent the spirit of the Ecoboost engine range, while demonstrating a moment, person or idea in life that is Small but Mighty.

The short films explore a variety of subjects, from a man with small but super-hero strong arms to a couple inspired by the little moments that shape the world – each at their core sending the Small but Mighty message.
