With a storied motorsport history and a reputation for designing some of the most beautiful cars ever, Alfa Romeo is undergoing a transformation.
New factories, new technology, some very cool cars and a new way of thinking define the modern-day version of the brand. Or so it claims, as the marque seeks to separate itself from a past, that while good looking, wasn't always, how do you say, perfetto?
So we decided to find out for ourselves - a deep dive into many (although not all) things Alfa Romeo.
Naturally, we piloted a number of Alfa Romeo vehicles on their home turf, with Aussie-based Feann Torr and our UK reporter John Mahoney as our crash test dummies. UK-based videographer Damian Blakemore reprised his Best of British role behind the camera.
Yes, it was a case of getting the band back together...
Starting with its design centre, Centro Stile, in Turin, this feature series is not all about the cars - it's also about the people who are renewing the Alfa Romeo brand and the places where the magic happens.
From Alfa Romeo's new state-of-the-art factory in Cassino to its priceless museum in Arese - and even cutting hot laps at the Italian brand's historic Balocco proving ground - we've delved into everything Alfa Romeo. Over the next two weeks we will take you on a journey Alfa style.
And one thing is clear, this most Italian of brands is ready to shift up a gear.
Inizia!! It begins.
