With a storied motorsport history and a reputation for designing some of the most beautiful cars ever, Alfa Romeo is undergoing a transformation.

New factories, new technology, some very cool cars and a new way of thinking define the modern-day version of the brand. Or so it claims, as the marque seeks to separate itself from a past, that while good looking, wasn't always, how do you say, perfetto?

So we decided to find out for ourselves - a deep dive into many (although not all) things Alfa Romeo.

Naturally, we piloted a number of Alfa Romeo vehicles on their home turf, with Aussie-based Feann Torr and our UK reporter John Mahoney as our crash test dummies. UK-based videographer Damian Blakemore reprised his Best of British role behind the camera.

And one thing is clear, this most Italian of brands is ready to shift up a gear.
