FAA Automotive, local distributor of the Foton Tunland pick-up range, has announced an enhanced equipment list and a revised model mix for the imported one-tonner. Bluetooth is now a standard feature across the range, as is a new steering wheel – leather-bound with remote control switchgear for phone and audio. The revised models also come with ISOFIX child safety seat anchorages for the outboard positions in the rear of the dual-cab Tunland.
Previously badged Quality or Luxury respectively, for the entry-level and high-grade models, the Tunland remains offered in two levels of trim, but these are now TK (base) and TL (upmarket spec). The distributor has dropped the slow-selling Tunland Luxury 4x2, which would have been renamed Tunland TL 4x2 if it had continued.
Pricing has been pared back also, with the $28,500 MLP for the base model now reduced to $26,990 driveaway (inclusive of on-road costs). Driveaway pricing also applies to the two 4x4 variants, with the TK 4x4 reduced from the $34,500 MLP of the Tunland Quality 4x4 to $32,490. The range-topping Tunland TL 4x4 is priced at $32,990 – including on-road costs – rather than the MLP of $35,000 for the superseded Tunland Luxury 4x4.
Repositioning the current range leaves room for the addition of a single-cab model to be introduced prior to the end of the year. The distributor is currently making arrangements for a local supplier to develop a tray for that model, which will also be joined by a van, minibus and SUV in due course.
FAA also plans to expand the Foton dealer network from 20 to 30 in coming months.
