Polestar Australia has announced a new product offensive that will see four new models released Down Under within the next three years, including three all-new offerings.

The announcement was accompanied by a series of teaser images showcasing both the complete line-up as well as solos of the upcoming (unseen) models, albeit obscured by a translucent garage door.
Having already seen the Polestar 5 we’ll skip straight to the new Polestar 4 variant which will debut a wagon-esque body style in the name of practicality, design and enhanced versatility.
“Sweden is famous for its estate cars, and its SUVs are world-class,” Polestar CEO Michael Lohscheller said.
“We are combining the space of an estate and the versatility of an SUV with the dynamic performance that is Polestar.”
The net result could well be a lower-slung, more accessible sibling to the Polestar 3 large SUV in the ilk of Volvo’s old ‘Cross-Country’ models – vs the dedicated ‘XC-’ SUVs – and that’s largely what we can see from the teaser.

Hidden behind the partially raised door is a flatter and extended roofline supported by a traditional rear window.
The second-gen Polestar 2 meantime is completely hidden, but we can still see a far more modern front fascia and lighting design compared to the aging current model, not to mention the fact it sits noticeably closer to the ground, suggesting the brand’s pioneering sedan is evolving into a more direct Tesla Model 3 rival.
Contrary to previous reports, the upcoming Polestar 7 won’t directly replace the 2, however it could takeover as Polestar’s most affordable model… when it eventually arrives.
“With Polestar 7 we are entering the largest EV segment in Europe, the compact SUV segment, which accounts for approximately one-third of total BEV volumes in 2025,” Lohscheller said.
“We are convinced that we can offer customers a progressive performance-driven car for a very attractive price point, built in Europe.”

Local specifications of any of the above models won’t be announced until closer to their respective launches later this year, early next and in 2028.
That said, it wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect the new Polestar 2 to leverage the powertrain of the 4, with the same true of the 4’s new wagon variant.
At the time of writing, the Polestar Australia range comprises the first-gen Polestar 2 sedan, Polestar 4 coupe-SUV and Polestar 3 large SUV.
