The media invite to the launch of FPV's FG range displays an aggressive front end for the new GT -- complete with 'BOSS 315' emblazoned on the blacked-out bonnet bulge.
Thus, the V8-powered GT will generate 315kW of power, or so we surmise from the image in the invite (pictured).
HSV's pre-release info has revealed that the LS3 engine fitted to HSV's ClubSport R8 will develop 317kW, amounting to a 2kW advantage over the FPV models.
That may be more of an advantage on paper and in the world of marketing, rather than in practice.
And it doesn't take into account the possibility of a premium V8 offered by FPV with substantially more power and torque than the base engine.
Leaving aside any nascent high-performance FPV V8, the real duel will be between the Boss 315 and the base LS3, determined perhaps by the respective torque figures and such things as power-to-weight ratios. As more information comes to hand, we'll keep you informed.
