FPV's Boss 302 replaces Boss 290

FPV General Manager Rod Barrett confirmed at AIMS in Sydney that the Cobra Boss 302 limited editions marked the end of the Boss 290 engine in the wider FPV range.

All FPV V8 models based on the BFII Falcon sedan and ute built after the 400 Cobra sedans and 100 Cobra utes (more here) will feature the Boss 302 engine.

Barrett estimated that there might be as few as 50 Boss 302 engines left after the Cobra build program is finished.

This provides the opportunity for FPV buyers to build the ultimate FPV BFII GT, GT-P, Pursuit or Super Pursuit in their choice of colours, stripes, trim and options featuring the Boss 302 engine.

Or if ultimate luxury is your bag, a Force 8 with the Boss 302 would indeed be a very rare beast.

The only option not available on any of these models is the R Spec suspension package which Barrett claims will remain exclusive to the FPV GT 40th Anniversary, GT Cobra sedans and the F6 R Spec Typhoon.

When there are claims that all Cobra limited editions were wholesaled immediately after Bathurst and some "buyers" are already offering as yet undelivered cars for a substantial premium in eBay, these final Boss 302 examples could prove to be even rarer and more exclusive than any of the FPV limited editions.
