Honda Australia has confirmed that the Series II CR-V will gain an upgraded DTi-L limited edition variant.
The ‘Earth Dreams Technology’ 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel four-cylinder will be seen in the four-wheel drive DTi-L and feature Honda’s new nine-speed automatic transmission, which is already available in Europe.
“Not only does the CR-V Series II DTi-L receive this new powertrain, it features refreshed styling, upgraded specification and sharp pricing, making it an attractive proposition for our customers,” said Stephen Collins, Honda Australia’s Director.
Producing 118kW and 350Nm, the small-capacity diesel punches above its weight, while the transmission further assists in delivering claimed economy figures of 5.9L/100km on the combined cycle. CO2 emissions are also down to 154g/km.
The Series II CR-V DTi-L Limited Edition has been given a new front grille and headlights, while there’s also optical guide LED DRLs. The front bumper has also been redesigned and incorporates fog lights; chrome door handles and new-design 18-inch alloy wheels lift the side profile.
Viewed from the rear the updated CR-V displays new tail lights and bumper.
Slide into the cabin and you are welcomed by leather-appointed, heated front seats, a 5.0-inch multi-information dash display, leather steering wheel with controls for audio/cruise and i-MID, dual-zone climate control, a 7.0-inch colour touchscreen for Honda’s Display Audio system and Siri eyes-free mode. There’s also in-built satellite navigation, one HDMI and two USB ports, and a rear-view camera that offers multiple views.
Another key feature for the DTi-L is the electric tailgate, which boasts four operational methods: There’s a button on the lower-right side of the dash, one in the key fob and two buttons incorporated into the tailgate itself. There’s also an auto close function which locks the tailgate if manually shut.
Honda has priced the limited-edition DTi-L at $44,290, plus on-road costs.
