You'd be forgiven for thinking you've already seen it as part of Infiniti's long-winded reveal campaign for its first global compact car, but here's the first look at the inside of the all-new Q30 hatchback.
Like the exterior, the front of which was revealed in July and the rear of which was seen in spy pics late last month, the Q30's production interior remains faithful to the concept that previewed it at the 2013 Frankfurt show.
No new information has been released with the interior image of Nissan's answer to the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series, Infiniti saying only that its interior designers selected highest quality materials and processes to create a premium modern ambiance.
It also revealed that Dinamica suede-like material made in Italy will line the Q30's roof and pillars inside, and that "Driver and passenger seating have been constructed for enhanced comfort and support with an elevated hip-point, aiding the in-control sense that combines well with Q30’s sharp dynamics on city streets or country roads."
“Q30’s sculpted exterior and asymmetric cabin design are unmistakably Infiniti,” says Infiniti president Roland Krueger.
“With the Q30, we are entering a new segment for Infiniti and broadening the offer to our customers. This vehicle is a vital part of our strategy to be a top tier global manufacturer of premium cars.”
As we've reported, the Q30 – which will be followed by a compact crossover dubbed the QX30 – is based on the same MFA platform that underpins the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, with which it will also share its four-cylinder engines.
Rumours are already rife that the Q30 and QX30 crossover model family could grow to include ‘Eau Rouge’ performance variants, which could the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that powers the A 45 AMG.
Due to make its world debut at the Frankfurt motor show in two weeks, the Q30 will be launched in Europe in mid-November and arrives Down Under by mid-2016.
