Lamborghini’s all-out Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is described by the company as the "most extreme" street-legal model in the Gallardo range.
The Volkswagen-owned Italian car-maker has transferred most of the race gear from its Gallardo Super Trofeo race car familiar to followers of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series that is claimed to be the world’s fastest (and the only all-wheel drive) one-make series.
For example the 419kW V10 engine, with its unique and resonant firing order, is lifted straight from the race car without modification, while the carbon composite rear wing, and even the quick-release removable engine cover are identical. Also standard is a carbon-ceramic braking system.
Transmission is the same as the race car: It’s an electronically controlled six-speeder driving to all four wheels.
Lamborghini has gone for broke with aluminium and carbon fibre to drag the weight down. At 1340kg the LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is 70kg less than the already lightweight Gallardo LP 560-4. The enhanced power-to-weight ratio helps the LP 570-4 Squadra Corse accelerate from zero to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds (200km/h comes up in 10.4 seconds) on the way to a top speed of 320km/h.
Minimalism is the key inside, where Lamborghini has mixed carbon fibre and Alcantara to induce something of a race car ambience. The door panels, (racing) seats, centre console cover, handbrake frame, centre console insert, lower steering wheel rim, main and secondary instrument panel trim, door handles and the glove box handle are all carbon fibre.
Externally, the LP 570-4 Squadra Corse gets a green, white and red decal strip along the sides, a matt-black rear wing and high-gloss black on the bonnet, front air intakes, rear diffuser and the forged 19-inch wheels. Body colour choices include Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and Rosso Mars (red), and even the brake callipers are available in red, black or yellow.
Lamborghini has tagged the LP 570-4 Squadra Corse at €191,100, which equates to roughly $A274, 000.
