FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: Record 210 world debuts

The Frankfurt motor show is traditionally the world's biggest, with more than 1000 exhibitors presenting their wares to nearly 900,000 visitors at the 2013 event.
But this year's 66th Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) looks like being the biggest ever, with a claimed 210 world debuts – up by a third on previous years – including 26 European premieres.
Underlining the biennial German car show's importance this year will be a meeting between transport ministers of G7 nations Germany, US, Canada, UK, Japan, Italy and France to discuss policy-making around connected and automated driving technologies.
The G7 September 16-17 transport meeting will be attended by none other than German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The motoring.com.au team will be among the 12,000 journalists expected to attend from 87 countries to cover the unprecedented rollout of presentations, many of which have already been seen.
