FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: Rolls-Royce teases Dawn convertible
Wraith drop-top teased ahead of reveal. Should get 465kW twin-turbo V12Rolls-Royce has released three teaser shots of its new Dawn convertible ahead of its official reveal on September 8.
Not much is given away by the British car-maker other than it will get the Wraith's rear-hinged doors and plenty of Dawn name-tags dotted around the cabin to remind you what you’re driving.
The revelation Rolls-Royce was working on a chop-top Wraith came following an announcement by CEO, Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes, that the luxury British car-maker would resurrect the ‘Dawn’ name from the Silver Dawn that was made between 1950 and 1954.
When the Dawn joins the Rolls-Royce range in the first quarter of next year, it will be the sixth car the British car-maker manufactures at its Crewe HQ.
All will be revealed late next Tuesday, according to the car-maker, but for now it’s a safe bet the convertible will be powered by the same 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 that propels the 465kW/800Nm Wraith.
When it reaches Australia some time towards the end of 2016 the new Dawn is expected to cost $650,000.
