FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW: Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo arrives

Sporty Monte Carlo trim expanded to include the baby Skoda SUV

A new flagship Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo has been unwrapped at the Frankfurt motor show.

Available in Europe towards the end of the year, the sportiest Kamiq Monte Carlo will touch down in Australia, along with the rest of the Kamiq range, around May in 2020.

Featuring gloss black paint for the grille, mirror caps, roof rails, side sills, bumper elements and even the Skoda lettering on the tailgate, the Monte Carlo Kamiq rides on standard black 17-inch alloy wheels and gets the option of larger 18s.

The range-topping Kamiq SUV also adds a rear diffuser and full-LED tail lights, plus 'Monte Carlo' badging.

Inside, the cabin gets black headlining, tinted windows and a panoramic roof as well as sport seats and a multi-function steering wheel that, along with the gear lever, is covered with perforated leather.

Finally, the Monte Carlo upgrades extend to red LED ambient lighting, chrome vents, aluminium pedals, special floor mats and Kamiq-branded doors sills.

When it's introduced here in late Q2, the new Skoda Kamiq is set to be paired with the a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that produces 85kW and 200Nm and is combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
