Owners of the all-new Audi e-tron SUV are being offered an extensive aftersales program as Audi Australia looks to draw more buyers into the EV fold.
On sale from this week, Audi’s pioneering e-tron will be offered to Australian customers with a complimentary six-year service program, as well as six years’ unlimited access to the public Chargefox network of fast-charging stations, which comprises more than 500 different outlets around the country.
In addition, e-tron owners will also be offered a complimentary six-year roadside assist program in Australia, along with a complimentary home-charging wallbox installation allowing users to access 11kWh AC recharging.
The new e-tron is able to utilise the Chargefox network’s 150kWh charging capability, which can fully replenish the electric SUV’s battery in 45 minutes.
Audi is a founding partner of the Chargefox network and says the ultra-rapid chargers are powered by 100 per cent renewable energy.
The Audi e-tron is backed by a three-year/unlimited-kilometre new-car warranty in Australia, as with other Audis, while its battery pack carries an eight-year/160,000km warranty.
Elsewhere, Audi Australia has embarked on its own green charter this week, announcing that it will move to a 100 per cent renewable energy model in Australia.
The car-maker has registered through the GreenPower program to purchase renewable energy certificates for its total annual energy usage as a business.
In effect, the move means most of Audi’s total annual power demand will now be ‘produced’ by the Capital Wind Farm precinct in Canberra.
According to Audi, the renewable energy promise is one step towards reducing “the carbon footprint of the Audi fleet by 30 per cent across the entire lifecycle” by 2025.
“Our 100 per cent renewable energy commitment, as a business, is in line with what we believe should be the expectations placed upon us as a leader in sustainable mobility,” said Audi Australia managing director Paul Sansom.
“The arrival of our first electric vehicle, the Audi e-tron, makes this the right time for us to make such a commitment. However, this is not the end by any means, rather just the start.
“It’s the beginning of our journey in zero-emissions motoring, and we plan to build and develop our contribution in the years to come.”
Audi Australia’s renewable energy move aligns with the broader business. The e-tron EV is produced in a plant in Brussels which claims to be the “world’s first certified carbon-neutral large-scale production plant in the premium segment”.
